I have win XP and I'm planning on reformatting and reinstalling everything... Is there a guidebook for this sort of thing? Something with an itemized list of install this first, this driver next, etc? What about a list of things "not to forget" -- address book backup, cookies, etc...?

And finally, How do I format the hard drive? Can this be done from within XP or do I open a dos window and type format c:\
