How high off the ground is he? I think i saw this once, the guy was using one foot to stand on his toes making it look like he was floating from the angle you see. They went on to say that for TV they do that, record the reaction, then go back and edit in the second part where he goes up a few feet and make it look like they happened at the same time.

I was convinced, it looked so real for it to be a guy on his tip-toes.

Sleight of hand trick, from what I've heard. Supposedly he just gets up on his tip-toes but from what you're seeing it looks like he's levitating.

they showed the secret on that special with the magician wearing a mask and exposing magic tricks....basically sleight of foot and camera trickery

it also said they only show when the tricks work and edit out the many many times he doesnt guess the card or fool the person.

That's actually an interesting statement, because it's the mind that allows these false realities to be perpetrated.

so they just have the people on the street that he 'levitates' in front of act surprised and shocked when in fact he's just standing on his tip toes? That's disappointing

actually i saw that one david blain one, where he was outside, and he was floating and they bought the camera to the bottom to prove he was floating, you could see the other side of the road from the bottom of his foot, so how does he do it?

The link mentioned explains it. Basically the first time the folks on the street see it, its a play on angles etc. You line them up to where you lift the leg facing them and stand on your toes on the foot they cant see. Their reaction to this first act is recorded. THEN they give the audience (home) the other angle where he uses wires to completely come off the ground, while the audience on the street is asked to once again spectate and react. Post production cuts the first reaction with the 2nd wire trick we see where both feet come off the ground.

Penn and Teller's Bullsh!t did a show on debunking magicians and showed how he did by standing on one foot...or tip-toeing on that one foot.

I saw that one too, he was more then a foot off the ground so he was NOT using the Balducci Levitation

BTW I have seen him use that Balducci Levitation and it look fake, cool but fake.
