So how do you get rid of useless old books?

I've been cleaning out/sorting my crap for the first time in 5 years, and I've got a small collection of programming/High School AP books, all of which are outdated. I also have a couple of more recent textbooks that "might" sell, but unlikely. Anyway to get rid of this crap? Monetary compensation would be nice, but I'll settle for just getting rid of them.

Local Trash company says they don't take books. How they enforce this, I don't know. I also don't have enough sell-able crap to justify a yard sale, so that's out. Any suggestions?

What are these "library's" you speak of? The intarweb Gods deny they existence let alone their efficacy.

If it's used (for instance, prep books) I recycle them. Otherwise, like Aluvus, I give them to Goodwill.

Charity shops, book stores, some libraries, paper recycling or sell them as a job lot.

Donating them is probably the most ethical route. I loath book burning, no matter whether the book is outdated or not.

If you pm me a list I might buy all/some, providing you're generous on the pricing. I try and keep a broad selection to pull ideas and lesson plans from.
