So how do I know how loud is too loud, or how much is too much

Well, I head that when you have it so loud that your ears bleed, it's a bad thing or something along those lines? Oh, and if you can't hear it, then it's too quiet.

I just know that very often I don't think music is loud when everyone else around me does. So I probably shouldn't use my own judgement for what is too loud.
