So, how do Greeks and Romans explain Apollo's chariot not being burned up by the Sun?

Ra's dead. He died on his ship above Abydos when the nuke went off. Perhaps you're referring to Apophys? 😕

Nah, that was all a mistake, since the "Eye of Ra" bit was BS anyway. it was obviously the Eye of Horus. 😉

My bad, I thought you were talking about the movie. 😛

0/10 Boo.. the original thread asked a reasonable question. I know a friend who switches back and forth between the "our day isn't the same as God's day" and "the world is 4,000 (our) years old" Even he seems confused.

So you are saying Christian mythology and Greek mythology are both fiction? for you
Not at all.
I am saying ALL GREEKS do not take mythology literally.
Neither do all Christians; infact most do not take the creation story literally.
It is foolish to think they do.
There are 2 billion plus Christians in the world.
It would be crazy to think they all held a certain view.

But I thought that Greeks were willing to accept that Apollo's chariot wouldn't burn up because it had god-like properties....?
