I guess today was the day where jobless people were supposed to skip work and "students" were supposed to skip class for this protest against Bush. How did it go? I've looked around at a couple of the normal leftist sites and I don't see too much about it and from the pictures I've seen posted, it wasn't very well attended.

Anyone play bum for the day and join the little protest?

I am currently attending NDSU, even if they did have a large protest I doubt I would attend at all.

I'm sure that yelling "Bush kills babies," will go infinitely farther politically than contacting your congressional representative or lobbying for a cause. These smart people should be running our country. We won't ever have any problems but a shortage of people to blame for our own inaction/actions.

It takes a lot of work to be a leach on society.

I think he was implying that liberals are lazy and can't hold down jobs because they're so busy hating Bush, eating babies, and joining the Nazi party.

a) It's "leech."

b) What is your point? Jobless people don't work, do they? I for one was too busy working (representing faceless municipalities and corporations, no less!) to have even heard of this protest . . .

Looks like that elite cap is slipping:

Looks like it is the communicators option.

It's called a mistake. I jammed two thoughts into one. I was supposed to say: "where the jobless were to come out, the people were supposed to skip work and "students" were supposed to skip class for this protest against Bush." Or something like that.

They've only been planning this little event for months. Looks like they didn't get the turnout they were looking for.

Why don't you go look on the indymedia page for the cities yourself instead of flamebaiting...

So why ask "So how did the "World Can't Wait" protest go today?" if you already knew, oh because you wanted to call them jobless to create flames...

The right wing trolls in here are getting pathetic, like you care about the march... :cookie:

I just got back from the action here in Los Angeles. It took place at the Federal Building in Westwood. I give it a 2 (1=dinner at my mom's house. 10=mosh pit at a Ministry concert while flying on cystal meth).

It didn't make much news here in the bay area besides from the fact that someone threw a molotov cocktail.

 OR I was looking for actual input since the sites I looked at weren't too positive about turnout and such.

No, I don't care about the march's objective but I am curious about how it was because I had heard about it, but didn't see much in the MSM about it.

Why are you bringing this up? It's bleedingly apparent he meant the second, it was just a spell check.

damn that liberal media...

I guess so. You can bet that if it was big, or sucessful, the MSM would have covered it, but since it wasn't - well - you know.

It was huge! I witnessed the event just outside the White House, and there were probably a 100 people denouncing GWB! Definitely 50+! The man had to notice!

If you may be trying to be techinical about it, the conclusion is still wrong:

to be a leach on
Ie. This is a noun, not a verb as bolded. According to the definitions posted for use as nouns:

leach: "--leach n. 1. The act or process of leaching. 2. A porous, perforated, or sievelike vessel that holds material to be leached. 3. The substance through which a liquid is leached. "

leech: "n. 1. Any of various chiefly aquatic bloodsucking or carnivorous annelid worms of the class Hirudinea, of which one species (Hirudo medicinalis) was formerly used by physicians to bleed patients. 2. One that preys on or clings to another; a parasite. 3. Archaic. A physician."

A leach is a seperation/purification techinique, while a leech is a filthy dirty parasite that "drain the essence or exhaust the resources of." Which I think is the image the author was trying to convey. You can purify bums, but I'm not really sure what good that would do. :)

But then again, I'm feeling cranky and just arguing for the sake of argument.

Edit: What, what are you lookin' at..?
