Not much they could do with the inept umpires calling the game.

When they are this far behind in the series it is pretty lame to keep blaming that one umpire call. The Sox earned this one.

Did anybody see the extra slow replay of the pitch? It actually did look like the ball bounced in the glove.

Well it didn't help, but I blame it more on the poor scheduling of the end of the ALDS and ALCS. The Angeles just looked flat these last 3 games. 4 playoff games in 3 cities in 3 days is enough to wear out any team. Add to it the loss of Colon, Washburn with strep throat, and an ailing Bengie Molina (who was red-hot before he got beaned in the elbow), you get a tired team with a poor rotation. They just couldn't match up with the White Sox's awesome (and well rested) rotation.

During the season both teams played very even and the Angels played well against a "superior" Yankees team. It doesn't make sense that they would fall apart that quickly.

That said, Vlad's extreme lack of production in the series was the major reason they failed to put up a fight. They are a streaky team who feed off of his energy and aggressive hitting. Without him they looked lost and the White Sox took every advantage by playing a great series.

Yeah, I don't argue the call, I argue the Ump's indifference at making the situation clear and saying "NO CATCH." Had he done so, Paul would have easily thrown Pierzynski out at first. Paul had nothing to gain from selling the catch, the ball was already in his glove. Bad luck for the Angels.

It's clear to me that the Ump initially thought the ball was caught (or else he would have made it clear), and changed his mind when Pierzynski took off toward first. At that point, I don't think he realized that Paul had rolled the ball back to the mound and was too stubborn (as all Umps are) to change his call.

Blaming the outcome on Paul, Escobar (who isn't expected to get four outs in an inning, especially with the events that transpired), or anyone other than the ump is uncalled for.

Learn to read, Jackass. I give the White Sox all the credit they're due, they won with great play and great pitching. I'm just offering reasons for why the Angels fell apart so quickly.

Any particular reason why? or are you just jealous that they play in beautiful weather?
