I'm just curious on how are the steppings lately from monarch/newegg/zipzoomfly that people have recently purchased. Very overclockable? Any reponse from recent buyers will be appreciated.

The X2s have been doing just as well, if not better.
Considering the ~50 dollar price difference, they really aren't worth it anymore, IMO.

it looks like the newer 060X steppings have been pretty good.

they are now CACJE which means they are cold bugged REALLY badly but do VERY well on air/water.

i have two more coming (144 and 146) so I'll post results or in my sig.

I bought a 165 from newegg 2/27/06. CCBWE 0551 UPMW. Using a ASUS Premium and Mushkin DDR500 I cannot go above 292 HTT X 9 pushing it @ 1.40 vcpu. I have dropped back to 289HTT @ 1.425 and with a 3 divder on the RAM for a very stable overclock @ 2.6ghz. 35c - 48c I was hoping for at least 2.8 but 2.6 is very nice for 300 bucks!

BTW thanks to the ANANDTECH COMMUNITY for the information I used to build and OC this rig!! I am still working on it and have a 0550 on the way!!

THe Ram is bothering me.... It wont boot at 500 mhz at any proc speed or divider. CPUZ detects it as pc3200 and it wont run higher than 240 mhz or so (333/3) . 3-4-4-8 2t. Is this normal for so called "Extreme DDR500"?

They seem to all be doing well. Mine is a 0546, kind of old, but since then, people have been having much more success.

Hmm, that's not too bad of an OC. I still haven't popped in my 165 yet, and it's been sitting very lonely on my desk. Then, one of those HardOCP Monarch deals came along, and I caved and bought another 144, which is the same as yours except a CACJE.

Oy :(
I don't know what to do with myself. Every day I visit the hot deals forum, I buy something I don't need. I suppose whenever I get some free time, I'll overclock it, and see how the new year is treating these chips.
