Before this gets locked and I go down in flames, let me first say, dwinslett, "YOU ARE A PUNK!" Let me further state, shame on you all for partaking in this thievery. Mods, I know you will lock this, but before you do, PLEASE take a close look at who you are and what you are supposed to be doing here, SHAME ON YOU!

I won't waste a "shame on you" for dwin as he/she is a punk. THIS IS/WAS NOT A HOT DEAL, this is larceny.

OD, despite their shortcomings was trying to appease "the PUNK" for his whining about "no clearance specials at his OD, SNIFF SNIFF, POOR HIM! He wanted to take it further and put the screws to OD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PEOPLE, a quick piece of advice, "If you don't like where you shop or get the service you CHEAP bastards think you ought to get, DON"T GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe the MODS let this go on as far as they did, geez....I just lost all respect for the Mods(Note to mods, let this run fer a while and I may trust you again.)

Again, let me state that this is/was NOT a hot deal, flame me all you want but all of those of you who responded, abused dwins's post, I HOPE YOU NEVER COME INTO MY STORE, CAUSE I'LL GRAB YA BY THE THROAT AND TOSS YA OUT ON YER ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, that being said...If the Mods don't ban me I intend to cancel my membership with Anandtech very soon, lke in the morning.
I am not the self rightious plick some of you will make me out to be, but I do still have standard, "yes, even in the year 2001." By the way, think this post will affect my "perfect" rating here? Well, if you noticed - although a bit late - the mods did lock the $20 off $20 post.

AT's policy is to not allow threads like these.

This one slipped by and then another was posted against the rules with a coupon link from a website.

By the way, this should be really posted in OT or Forum Issues.

If you noticed these illegal threads, perhaps your conscience should have moved you to alert the mods.

Screw you Jon. This "punk" as you say was trying to help people out. There was nothing saying that this was not to be used by more than one person. It said one coupone per customer/visit. You can go to bed tonight thinking you are Holier-Than-Though, but your self-righteous sanctimonious attitude affects me none. I will sleep fine tonight with no guilty conscience. Having said that, if I get banned, it's been fun... and I'll be watching. :D

The coupon was err very open.. even said only use once per visit or something. Thats office depots doing. I would understand if it was obviously one use by one individual, but this was just begging to be used.

Also, megastore managers tend to lie when there's a hotdeal... an annoying trend i've seen. Tell the customer anything..lies do not breed trust or sympathy. IF office depot had always acted honestly then you might have a point.. sadly that isn't the case.

Innocentvictim is probably a disgruntled store manager, this is exactly the devious behavior they will resort to.

This is besides the point, most of us went for the hotdeal, not revenge or anything.

Whats that old saying,

There are always grey areas.. welcome to life.

Islam is a fantastic religion. I know many people who are muslims. In fact a great deal of modern inventions and cultural advances came from islamic nations.

But islamic fundamentalists haven't done jack to assist these advances, and neither does fundamental injustice crying. What your saying is right, but just like islamic terrorists disgrace the good religion of islam, your coming out looking like an ass.

No, I didn't use any coupon at any OD today.

I am just saying you are way too late. To be more useful here in sticking up for what you believe, you should have alerted the mods and let them decide when the "theft" thread was active.

You are too little too late. Since you are serving no useful purpose here in this regard, post it where it belongs - Forum Issues or OT. One more additional "wrong" (yours) doesn't make a "right".

Well if OD keeps its business practices up the way they are, they won't be around to offer hotdeals anymore. I bought a $40 dollar bubble wrap package for 88 cents today. Thats just bad policy to sell inventory way below cost. Even liquidating gives more money. And when it comes down to it, its not the customers fault. Its the decision maker who made the decision to offer such a coupon code without thinking about its influences. Please people. The information age is here, learn to realize companies, the power now lays in the hands of the consumer through information. I think this is a good lesson for them to learn. Personally, if i was managing that company, i'd fire all of top management and restructure the place with people who know what the hell there doing. If they really thought this coupon wouldn't be spread around, there begging for something thats not going to happen. Honestly, would you offer a coupon wihtout a unique code for one time use? Please. You'd have to be Office Depot to do that. (Okay, maybe even staples. ;) )
