2.27Ghz oc on my new DLT3C xp1700 which I got for 35 dollars off a member here. I was wondering if you guys have experienced unusually high temps with this chip cause I'm giving it the same voltage as I did to my old xp2100(tbred b) and the temps are 5-8c higher at the same speed.

I'm cruising at 65celsius now and it's hot. I should be around 55c while Prime is torturing it but it's 10 c Higher than the xp2100.

Oh yeah. I just got a chopped finger. :( Never put your fingers in the case when it's dark. You might not know who's gonna bite you. :(

You might want to start to think about this sentence. :D
Anyway some chips do run higher temps than the other. I don't know why is that but I had that experience with XP 2100, in the same board, with the same setup one chip was 5-6 C higher than the other. I though I made some worse installation of a heatsink so I tried again but no change.

LOL, I just reread that sentence too. :D

Anyway, MBM5 is reading at 1.78v which is about right. I'm doing 2.3Ghz now and priming at 63 Celcius. It has not crash on me yet. I was just wondering about the temps because it was at 68celcius once. I know they can withstand till 90 celcius and believe me, I've done over 90 celcius and the CPU has survived. :D

It's a 0310 XPMW. :)

This is just a thought coming out of left field but... perhaps the reason that the 2100+ is running 5c cooler than the 1700+ at the same speed is that you are OCing the 2100+ less so it doesn't have to work as hard. Just a thought, if I am horribly wrong I apologize.

This might be it too but I'm feeding the same voltage at the same speed and I don't think that the difference in stock speed matters since they both have the same amount of transistors and voltage.

Did that 3 times already. The AS3 was pretty watery when I applied it. It might be the problem. I think the silver component in the tube is gone, only the liquid stuff that's left behind. :(

i'm not surprised it's running hotter.

wpmw or the xpmw both run hotter for some reason....

anyway....

as long as their are no errors i think you're okay...

because you wont' be running prime95 24/7 your temps will go a little lower as well...

and it may be the arctic silver as well but i highly doubt it...

Maybe if you bitch and whine about it the guy from AS who visits the message board will send you some Ceramique =)

For real??? Who's that guy again?? :D

I think I might just reapply the AS3 once again when my finger is healed. :(

Yes shim, I heard you saying about it before but never knew it would be this bad.

I'm idling at 59C now. This is MAD!

He told some other guy who was complaining about it that if he PMed him his address he would send him a tube of Ceramique if he wished.

What's his handle again??? Redid AS3 and this time it's at 58C.
