So have you ever throw anything of value out on accident?

Last week I picked up a couple of trash bags at my parents house to take them to the dump as I was on my way anyway to throw out a truck load of stuff from my storage room. Well I found out today my mom threw some new clothes in a small white trash bag that she needed hemmed at the cleaners. I didn't realize it at the time...

Anyway, I accidently threw out like $200 worth of new clothes. :(

You ever destroyed or thrown something away on accident?

That happened to a friend of mine. He went to Europe and put his dirty clothes in a white plastic garbage bag. The maids threw it out. Luckly, he was only there for a day or two when they threw it out.

My wife through out a CD with an an $800 software package on it (Absoft compiler suite). I had it laying on the table, and she just assumed it was another of the damn AOL CD's
Luckily, I realized it, and fished it out a few days later ... nasty. I'm sure we could have gotten it replaced though.

In general, if it isn't nailed down, she'll throw it out.

Nothing that valuable that I can think of, and/or, that I didn't recover before it went to the dump.

You guys remember that Taco Bell Batman "collect and win" game? Well, to make a long story short, I threw out the rare piece for $20,000...Bane was the piece if anybody played the game too.

I think I might have thrown out the pink slip for my truck... I can't find it anywhere at least. I need to talk to the DMV.

Not thrown out, but buried. I lost my wedding ring while helping my dad lay the cement in his driveway.

I was cleaning out my closet and threw away one of those cheap fanny packs....2 days later
my wife asked me if I'd seen it...seems she had been using it to hide some "mad" money in...
approximately $1800.00 if I remember....(and the term "mad" fit her)..

Anyway, she told me this at the softball diamonds while watching my oldest daughter practice..
I raced home and found it still in the trash can by the curb.....I beat the trash guy to it by about
15 minutes....

Taking out the recycling, I heard something rattling around in the bottom of the paper bag. I dug around and found my husband's wedding band. He'd taken it off and my toddler daughter found it and threw it in there.

A few years ago I left my retainer wrapped in a napkin at the school cafeteria. I remembered as soon as I stepped outside but it was too late. I dug through an entire morning's worth of garbage that morning :p Cost me $250 to replace :(

Oh, and I also lost two IBM stock certificates that were worth about $1500. Lucky for me I only had to pay $40 to replace them

Several years ago, my sister gave me a ticket to U2's zoo tv concert in a birthday card a few months before the actual concert... I threw away the card with the ticket still inside while moving...Ended up going to the concert anyways and got excellent seats but paid about $60 for the ticket...
