So H/K is trying to give me the shaft.

I wasn't sure if H/K was Hong Kong or the gun manufacturer (Hekkler & Koch [sp?]).

I was also thinking Heckler & Koch, but I did not recognize the model number as one of the firearms they manufacture. 😛

Listing imaginary features in your manual is a very serious mistake, especially if vendors trust the feature list and put it in ads and catalogs.

I could be WAY wrong here, but my guess is the 430 and 630 have combined manuals & the "misprint" is a check in the wrong column or something to that effect.

Nope, they are seperate manuals.

edit...the online pdf versions of each manual is online on h/k's website. the manual I have is the exact same as what is online.

I still don't understand how they try to "shaft" you. They admitted it is a misprint in the manual, apolized and offer a trade up model for the price difference. If you don't like it, then just return the product for the full refund because it didn't meet your standard. Use that money and purchase other products that had the features you want.

They want me to pony up to their retail price, not to the price @ the authorized dealer that I purchased from. I could have purchased the AVR630 at a substantially lower price at the time I bought my AVR430. At that time the difference was only 175 dollars @ the authorized dealer.

Now throught H/K the difference is around 600 dollars. That is a lot to difference. They said they would not compete with their authorized dealers price and I would have to go through retail price. That is one of the reasons I am so pissed.

edit...I purchased for AVR430 for 605 and during that time the AVR630 was 780. Now @ h/k the AVR430 is 1000 and the AVR630 is 1300.00. I would have to pay the difference of 1300-605 = too much.

also...I cant return the product it is passed 14 days from my purchase.

Actually I read on avsofurm before that H/K has terrible manuals and that they should never be trusted. Of course this is not a excuse, but more of a "it's probably happened before" and so they should have fixed this a long time ago.

Why don't you use return it from where you bought it? Explain to them the misprint and maybe they will wave the return fee.

I will see, I am already looking @ dvda players with their own bass management.

1. Get H/K to give you a COMPLETE REFUND, and or deal with reseller them selves.

2. Buy a 640 somewhere else.

Stop being a whiney bitch. They most likely just screwed up and are not tryign to "SHAFT."

Asking for $200 for a misprint when they can clearly return your money is simply ridiculous.
