Conversely - remember when Intel was sampling the QX9770s? And how those chips weren't supported by any board at the time without OCing the FSB?

So true! Ah so now the i680/i780 incompatibility genius at Nvidia becomes so obviously, erm, patently genius :p

Maybe that is why Tom's was having a hard time finding AM2 boards that are Phenom compatible...the mobo makers are safeguarding their RMA centers from the would-be overclocking AMD zealots with their bugged BE phenoms :D
