Those 1000 groupies wouldn't have been at the center if they didn't come, the least you guys could do was let them into what ever ride they wanted.

I'm sure if your superiors heard you did this you'll lose your job.

Think about P and L next time...
Am I missing something, or are you saying that just because there's a whole bunch of people, they deserve special treatment at the expense of other paying customers?

People don't tend to realize this.

As an experienced business owner/manager/boss, let me tell you something you need to know as you climb the work ladder - I assume you don't want to be in this lowly position forever:

NEVER be the one to say "no" to important people! It will come back to haunt you. The correct thing for you to do in the situation you were in, is to fawn like crazy and then Go Get Somebody Else to deal with the situation. Office politics rule #1: There is always somebody else available to do the dirty work.

You didn't invite the guys, so you don't have authority to approve their requests 😀 but you'll gladly go find a superior - just wait here, guys. I'll be back real soon. Yeah. Just stand right here. Don't move. I'll be riiiiiiiight back with my boss. As soon as I find him, I'll be right back. Just wait. (beckon underling) This person will take care of you while I'm gone. I'll be riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight back.

Good luck in your next job.

Unfortunately I wasn't in a position to (I was operating a ride). Later a supervisor was called because the band was asking a lot of staff members for privleges, and surprisingly, he knew nothing about the band being here at all... which makes me think they WEREN'T booked and just showed up expecting all this stuff.

Oh well.

Never heard of them.

And I would have told them that as well. Watch their face if they have a had time believing someone coudl have possibly not heard of them. heh.

Good that you told them no. They suck anyway.

Agreed...

To the OP are you sure you didn't mean "arrogant" rather than "ignorant" in the title?
...nevermind

I would have let them to the front. They brought in a lot of people that likely spent money at your place.

Good job. Fall out boy sucks, real bad. I would have had to fake sick with all those emo kids there, wouldnt have been able to take it.

Which one tried to cut in line? The long haired one that always wears a hat? I HATE THAT ONE!

I've never heard any of their music but the band name "Fall Out Boy" sounds quite fruity.

clearly you are just listening to the people on the street and not rock then, because then you'd know rock hasn't grown any softer, possibly harder... alt rock is still there. there is just a new category: pop rock.
i like fall out boy and similar bands, but they are NOT emo. all you bashers do need to get over yourselves and stop bashing the 'emo' kids too. not that im one of them, but its just bashing black people or something over something you know jacksh!t about. those emo kids? they are posers, bash them. but call them posers or something. emo is something way out of their league. all the bands considered emo these days really aren't. about the only one i'd even classify as emo that is said to be emo is hawthorne heights. fall out boy is pop-punk/pop-rock. most of the rock parading on the radio is pop-rock anymore. but there are still true rock bands. audioslave, crossfade are bands i just listened to that come to mind. now, there are PLENTY more but i am too lazy to look at my playlist. actually just been queueing up the franz ferdinand cd anyhow.

and the people bashing emo chics. obviously you haven't seen the ones i've set my eyes on, as there are some hot girls out there.

Holy christ! Hell hath frozen over! An emo elitist!

besides, they were booked guest at the CSC, shouldn't they get some VIP treatment and not some sh1t from a punkass kid making minimum wage?

its called keeping up with music and knowing the trends of said music
just know that emo started as stuff like the band Bright Eyes and most Jimmy Eat World music. that pop crap isn't.
'sides.... the kids in those bands getting airplay are getting more money than most of us on this here forum. if it works, might as well flaunt it.

on another note.. how can any of you guys treat the members of these bands the way you do, when you probably would bend over backwards for any said famous hollywood actor or pro athlete. they are all pricks for the most part too, why do they get special treatment? our society revolves around treating celebrities like they are diety's, bands like fall out boy expect that same treatment because past bands have gotten that treatment and because they are technically just as famous.. just with a different crowd/cult following.

Thank, another business owner sees it from my point of view. I'm not saying its right, but you've got to remember that if their tour manager comes back and complains to your manager/boss whatever the Axe is going to fall on YOUR heard, not theirs.

So you completely disregard the extra wait you'll cause for the other customers? They must love you for that, eh?

I've basically bent over backwards for customers before, but not at the expense of other customers.

read my above post... catering to celebrities is common practice for almost any business because the general public seemingly worships celebrities.

I haven't really worked in any place that would cater to celebrities..so I guess I haven't had a chance to experience this. Ah well..can't say I'm too upset about it. 😛
