So Fall Out Boy came to my work today...

Little background: I work at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA which is essentially a techology-centered museum centered around kids. I work at a portion of it where they have a bunch of rides you can put people on and stuff. Well Fall Out Boy is playing tonight in Pittsburgh, so someone had the bright idea to book them and like 1000 of their groupies for a big get-together at the CSC today-- with the general public there.

So I'm working, and bus loads of emo kids start pouring in. Fall out boy walks in, everyone crowds around them, yay yay all is good. A little way in, the band starts demanding that they get put in the front of hour-long lines to get on rides "just because they're the band." So when one of the dudes asked me, I told him no and he acted like he'd never heard the word before... then he proceeded to get sh!tty with me in front of visitors because I wouldn't let him flaunt his envisioned "supremacy" in the face of people who could care less (remember, visitors were there that didn't WANT fall out boy there in the first place).

Sigh. I hated to be the one forced to give the band a reality check, so to speak, but they need it. -_-

Cliffs:
- Fall Out Boy came to work
- Wanted free reign over everything because they thought they were better than everyone
- They still suck. :)))

Good for you man, I hate pretentious a-holes like that, thinking they are owed everything because they are semi-famous :disgust:

I hate such pretentious people. I remember Princesses Diana and her sons went to Disney World, back when they were young. They wanted to cut the line (I believe at the Epcot Center) and her mother told them no, they have to wait in line like everyone else.

[edit] To the OP, "ignorant" is different than "arrogant".

I had to drive a couple of my hotel's guests down to Station Square today and was totally stunned by the literaly mile long line of 15 year olds there. Then we saw the t-shirts and some of the guests started to yell out the window. That band sucks. Poor brainwashed kids.

I like Fall Out Boy...and I find this tale hard to believe

besides, they were booked guest at the CSC, shouldn't they get some VIP treatment and not some sh1t from a punkass kid making minimum wage?

Dart, the CSC is open to VIP people after hours when, for example, we have the Steelers come down and stuff. This was in the middle of the day when every plain visitor was there... it wasn't even like they were performing for the entertainment of the guests-- they were just there to bask in the glory of a bunch of 13 year old punks and parading themselves around.

I love it how when a teenager is a member of the working community they are just a "punkass kid making minimum wage". People like you who say that piss me off. Since when does how much money you make determine how hard you work? It's insulting enough that an able-bodied teenager is doing crappy work because no professional company would give them a job until they are out of school, but the fact that dicks like you rub it in their face astounds me. Would it be better if they sat around at home watching MTV and playing video games while mommy and daddy paid their way through life? You think they WANT to be making minimum wage? You think they WANT to be working a job that won't take them too far? Is it so glorifying to you to hold something like that over them because your job is so damn amazing and you've somehow earned the right to tell people that they aren't good enough to make a sh!tty wage? Go fvck yourself.

Fallout Boy can suck a fat one and I wished I could have been there to laugh at their arrogance. Wait in line like everyone else, assclowns. You make craploads of money. You don't need to cut in line to make your life better.
