So DT was right

I don't think everyone was bashing the DT early results. Rather it seemed unbelievable atm, it was the first "shock" for many.. After that much time the R600 couldn't compete with 8800GTX.. Couple that with the fact that it was such an early preview and you can easily understand why many thought they were fake..
Despite that I don't see the point of such a thread Wreckage.. Nothing personal I just don't see the usefulness..

DT had bad review practice, whether or not they were right is irrelevant to me, I still dislike what they did

FanATIcs need to step down from their high horse and just face the facts.

What truth?

Their review sucked, period.

I couldnt give 2 shits if HD2900XT PWNZ or doesnt PWN, cuz I wont be buying a card anytime soon, but the speculation is always fun :p

That it's $399 for a reason.

Keep the excuses coming though. What happened to ATI's fabulous drivers?

Look guy,

I do apologize for going on a rant any acting like an idiot by calling out DT. The fact of the matter is that they should have done a proper review because yes they were correct.

I should learn to accept what the card is and well I have. It is not something I was expecting by any means and the performance is pretty crappy for the long delay.

What I am delighted over is the possibilities that the card has. I believe the card in the next few re-spins will prove to be better then the 8' series due to the architecture.

I think the biggest change should come on a smaller die process. 65nm should fix some of the heat and power issues. But that's not until the refresh, I assume. Well, we've waited this long, can't hurt to wait a little longer ;)

They had both XT and XTX reviews, and simply mentioned how XTX wouldn't be barely any faster.

I thought the war cry was, "G80 is not optimized for DX10!".

I think at the moment it's, "Wait a few more months for the driver bomb!".

To put it into perspective. How much performance did G80 gain from release drivers to current? I'm not talking stability, I am talking pure performance.

DT was fairly close with their numbers, their review was substandard still. A lot of inconsistencies.

Do all you do is troll now? Is there a need to call names, and claim "victory" for your team? Your posts are all the same in every thread. Try growing up...

If you dont like my posts then ignore them. Just like I ignore 90% of your posts. I dunno, I try not to call you out on your bias whenever possible, but you love to call me out on mine. Maybe you should grow up?

Maybe my posts are all the same in every thread because there are 100 different threads on the same topic?

drivers aside you have to imagine that this is still poor performance. Any card released after a competitor and with such a long wait and consumes more power while being slower is terrible. I'm not buying anything until there's a DX10 game worth a crap (right now there are none). At that time there will be newer versions of these cards out (or prices will be down, maybe both)

What about something more like 1920x1200 or 1600x1200? I'm really not interested in 2560x1600 numbers because I dont have a 30" LCD.

well, there's no point in doing those tests. Reviewers test the cards at near MAX resolution and settings to see what they are capable of at the highest level of quality.

Faster at Oblivion HDR + AA 2560x1600 4xAA/8xAF means it's faster period.

DX10 benches WITH AA aren't looking to promising for ATI either...

QUOTE:
Under the new build of the game, the factory overclocked GeForce 8800 GTS card is able to squeeze ahead of the Radeon HD 2900 XT under both 0xAA and 4xAA. In fact, in both cases the GeForce 8800 GTS card is able to pull away from the Radeon HD 2900 XT as resolution is increased. This is surprising considering the Radeon card?s memory bandwidth advantage.

We should hopefully see more DX10 content very soon. The DX10 patch for Company of Heroes should be released later this month, while a DX10 version of the hit Xbox 360 shooter Lost Planet is expected to be released later this summer.
