So does this actually use multi core?

Takes about 20 minutes to convert a 300 meg episode of curb from avi
to whatever Videora uses for basic quality.

That seems like a long time considering the whole episode is like 20 minutes but what do I know...

Anyway so would this be wayyy faster with a Core 2 Duo or Quad? I got a x2 5000+ @ 3.2 right now. Also gettin 4 gigs soon, currently have 2, using Vista 32 bit.

thanks!

According to Google, Videora is multithreaded, so yeah, it would be faster on a quad-core. Your problem, most likely, is that you're trying to read from and write to the same drive. Having two hard drives almost always makes more of a speed difference than having a faster CPU, when it comes to transcoding.

(300 meg / 20 min) x 2 = 0.5 meg / sec : i dont think that it is a hdd speed limit.
a faster CPU or a more "core'ed" CPU would translate to a faster transcoding.
