So, does anyone here know why the band "Tesla" broke up?

Cuzz they were a band for like a Really long time?

I saw them play in a bar in Raleigh, NC about 5 years ago. Man were they Awesome. They only had one lead guitar player (not two like they usually had), but were Great.

I guess after bands have their "high point" in their career... once they plummit from this level, I would guess it's hard to continue year after year playing the same stuff. 🙁

Just my thoughts.

I don't think there are many 80's bands at all left playing? not too many.

BDawg, that's YOUR opinion.. I Loved them! Great musicians! 😉

[edit]I guess I should add in my wink too[/edit]

I was just curious how bands like Aerosmith, Jethro Tull, AC/DC, etc... can stay together for so many years and other put out a couple albums and are gone...

amish

Tesla put out, like 6 albums! That's quite a few. Nothing like Aerosmith or ACDC, but still...
I stopped listening to them after the 5man acoustic jam. I don't know if it's because they sucked after that, or just because my tastes in music changed.

You all know I was just joking! 🙂

Staying power is all about the almighty dollar!

IMHO, Aerosmith has really sucked ever since "Get a Grip."

You kidding? The Great Radio Controversy was awesome!! Psychotic supper was probably my #2, Bust a Nut was after the 5 Man Acoustic Jam, which is when I stopped listening to them.

I believe you can still catch several of the remaining members playing in a band called Sofa King. I know they were touring around the area about 8 months ago.

"Jeff: First of all, we were in the studio and we were called Sofa King but someone already had that name, so we had to come up with another one. We were in the studio going, ?What are we gonna call ourselves?? Dennis, the drummer said, ?You guys ought to write a song with a 7 Bar beat.? Tommy went, ?That would be a bar 7.? We went, ?Nailed it?!"

I was right! Sort of 😛 😛

Look here.

I knew they played at the Pig Pen in Clinton, IA in June. At that time they were Sofa King. I just remember the radio station talking about them being the core of Tesla.
