Started playing the game this weekend and made me wonder if there are real life Sam Fischers running aound out there.

I was in town the other day, and I was walking home, and it was night.

All of a sudden, I hear something on the roof, and I said, "What the hell was that?"

Then I peaked a look, and then continued on with my business....

Does ANYONE get this?

That's pretty much how it happens in the game

well, if u woke up in a dark alley corner, then i would understand you.

Yea but I bet they played Splinter Cell and said "damn I wish it was more like the game". Everythingi n life is exagerated.

No I really doubt that. The whole super-spy idea was made up by TV and widely bought by mass public. For starters do you realize the consequences of an american spy being caught lets say in Chinese embassy? The government wouldn't take that chance. Secondly, no human being, I don't care how well training he/she is can sneak unnoticed into a heavily guarded building. The people setting up the security are no fools either and I'm sure they'll think about somebody sneaking in through the ventilation system (Splinter Cell reference).

I tend to agree.

I'm sure there are government sponsored spies that are 'off the books' in many cases, but videogames to go beyond anything approaching reality.
