So do you think our priorities are messed up?

As we all probably know, guns-including long gun assault types recently used to such devastating effectiveness in Florida, Dallas and just this morning in Baton Rouge cannot be barred around the GOP Convention (but not allowed in the hall) because of Ohio law.

Want to know what is being barred to promote safety? Per an article in my morning paper- tennis balls and bicycle locks. I kid you not.

Have we as a country totally lost any concept of common sense and rational thought?

Now I'm trying to imagine a weapon that incorporates tennis balls and bike locks in a meaningful way. Bike locks alone are fearsome weapons but I'm stuck on bringing the tennis balls into the mix. Maybe throw the tennis balls to distract the police dog then chain the doors of the donut shop?

I'm sure baseball bats and car bumpers are also banned. Tennis balls are a good biological toxin delivery device.

Not really seeing the 'outrage' in any of this.

Also not seeing where this has a thing in hell to do with cop shootings in other states.

Not sure what the actual reason for banning bike locks and tennis balls is, but before going batshit over it, it might be helpful to read up on WHY. (Hint, THAT might actually be a more rational approach than just blind ranting without knowing a reason.)

I don't know, don't really care all that much, but I'd wager a guess that some loon somewhere has either used or threatened to use such items in a way authorities consider dangerous or disruptive, and is putting the kibosh on any such attempts.

Inject gas into a tennis ball, light with your favorite color of bic lighter, and toss. You can get real high tech and dissolve Styrofoam in the gas to make it into a passable napalm. Bike lock is a close quarters weapon.

I've never done this, but a fellow hears things.

Haha this is so messed up on so many levels.

The root problem is that people don't have the common courtesy to not beat the shit out of each other despite any perceived differences and the second problem is that those are way too many regulations in an attempt to address the main problem.

Like if you are so inclined to beat the shit out of someone at a political rally like page 8 paragraph 3 subsection B(2) would really stop you from bringing in a 1.9inch piece of wood to whack someone with instead of a 2inch piece of wood. As if fighting isn't already illegal.

They already plugged the canned refried beans can to head loophole, look at that, so clever.

You can't bring tennis balls or bike locks because they might be used as weapons.

Hilarious reasoning.
