So, do you think it's weird to work for your parents in a professional setting?

Inspired by this
thread. Music man was just attempting to get the attention of the supervisor (aka his mother) by screaming "moma" down the hall. Now, mind you there are about 50 offices down this hall.

...and you all wanted his man card yesterday. Maybe you should ask for his boy card...

If its your parents business, sure. Just any other company and you will be forever considered a wussy mommas boy.

I did it once. It was a touch weird, but it was made up for by the incredibly great pay they gave me!

Working WITH them would be fine. I'd never be able to work having one of my parents being my superior.

I wouldn't do it... cuz if I am successful later, I will always doubt whether my success came because of my parents...

I wouldn't even let my Dad get me a job, I need to find it on my own without his help...

I used to work at the same place as my Dad for about 3 years between the ages of (20-23), but we both had completely different jobs in completely different departments. Even then I kind of hated it, because there was always a lot of criticisms going on. I can only imagine how much worse it'd be if he had been my supervisor.

Worked for my dad and mom for several years and besides the lower pay, jokes (and snide remarks) about being the boss' son, having to deal with family crap at work, seeing my family every day and feeling dependent on my parents as an adult it was great.

Why? Didn't your parents raised you when you were young? So your character will still come from your upbringing. I think you are just being paranoid here because getting a job <> successful. What you do in your work determine that and that has nothing to do with your parents.
