how can you post this with a straight face and don't you find this unacceptable? I seem to recall several posts here regarding the pluses and minuses of most p2p networks out there... and why can't I download all the music I purchased previously prior to mp3? yes its a gray area, i just hope anandtech doesn't cower and I don't see any reason they should...

where is the line drawn exactly..lock this if necessary, just give us some guidance with regards to this issue...

I once asked the same type of questions. Some topics are allowed to go on while other similar ones aren't. I asked where the line is drawn and a member told me to shut up as if I were TELLING the mods to shut them all down. Geez... just need to know so I don't get banned myself... that's all.

PM the mod or post in forum issues. Starting a third thread is not a good idea.

then it is a forums issue, go post in the forums issues forum, if you are posting here to ask that question, then it looks like you are flame baiting, to me

well..i did want to enlighted all you other atoters to the issue as well....no trying to "flame bait" though i find it ironic that people seem to be more interested in my action and where I'm posting than the overall demise/struggle of p2p networks and discussions about them....
whatever...there's always other venues for serious.

I'd say the main reason that these threads get locked most of the time is because Anand (and the mods) want to cover their asses so they can't be sued by the RIAA for "aiding and abetting piracy", as dumb-sounding as that may be.

P2P has been somewhat legitimized by the courts but the fact is, most people still use it for "illegal" purposes....

How is this thread about the 'overall demise/struggle of p2p networks...' ? Looking at the thread title and the first post, it just looks like a thread complaining that your other two threads are locked and wanting a reason why.

Your first thread may have been, but this thread was a complaint thread all the way. So, yes we are concerned about where you are posting rather than your original threads' topic because the original topic has been lost.
