So did anybody bid on Google today?

How much did you bid?

I'm cheap, I only bid $98.50 😀

I wish i could have, but you needed a broker or a company to do the bidding for you right.

no individuals on their own.

take it from me. wait for the trip up and either short it or wait for the bad news to cease and go long for the acquisition by msn or yahoo

From what i understood, the only restriction was a minimum of 5 shares per bid, and one bid max...

Could be wrong though..

you might get it at 98..but I wouldn't have bid less than 100.

I'm gonna wait for this IPO stuff to die down and buy it in a couple months.

I'll see how the whole gmail thing plays out for them before deciding to invest.

I have the feeling that Google's share will fall dramatically in the coming months. Tech stocks are in a dive, Google's employees possibly selling shares off, strong competition, an expected loss in this quarter, etc.

Thus no I did not buy Google stock.

I wanted to place a bet, I mean bid, but when I did a search for details on altavista and hotbot, I couldn?t get any info?

you are way too late.

And you?re way too slow. Altavista and hotbot are alternative search engines, DIG!

I meant to ask this earlier..

are you basing your recommendation on solid information? Or are you just taking the press you;ve heard, and making a generalization? I'm assuming you have some sort of business (particularly Finanical Analysis) degree which gives you a good idea of what you're talking about??

If you aren't a registered bidder for their IPO, it'll be quite a while before you're eligible to buy shares.
