So confused with Amazon EC2... how do I see and edit my files?

I'm not a Linux admin by any stretch. I'm used to me web host giving me an FTP address and then I can see all my files and edit them directly with Dreamweaver or Filezilla.

But I can't make heads or tails of EC2.

How do I view and edit the files on my EC2 server? Software that I use?

What's more confusing is that my website is up, I'm being billed for server hours, BUT my AWS Control Panel shows NO instances running. WTF?

EC2 is just a server. You have to install your own software on it and manage it yourself.
