axis of evil? if you still think Tiger Direct sucks, you should stay away from Maxtor hard drives, never use a Samsung cell phones, and many other things.

T.D. was horrible years ago, but is much better now.

I'm joking. I used TigerDirect's site for products in the past. Very good in terms of shipping time. I still used NewEgg msot of the time, but if an item is cheaper or only available on TD, I won't hesitate to order from them.

CompUSA was overpriced, didn't buy anything from them in 10 years and it was no loss for me when they were closed.

Circuit City was ok, but I usually got stuff cheaper from their competitors (Best Buy, for instance) whenever an extreme sale was going on.

i don't know about TD being that bad if you have one locally. Picking up a motherboard same day FTW.

Seems like a smart business move, between the number of locations from CompUSA and Circuit City they can really get a lot more B&M presence.

1 1/2 miles from my place.

Yes, they sucked big time on getting rebates a few years back. But they've been okay on the last 2 years.

I always buy from TD, it's one of the only half decent Canadian computer stores around where you can get decent prices. There's also NCIX which is pretty good.

Two things.

One, whoa, only 14 million???

Two, funny that TigerDirect would outlive both CompUSA and CircuitCity, who would have thought of that.

I see those exact signs everywhere, especially in the malls.

I've seen rite-aid use almost those exact same signs around here

Maybe i should get in the 'going out of business'/'liquidation' sign business.

I used to work for the old CompUSSR and the prices did suck and working there was a nightmare. The new CompUSA has way better pricing and actually carries things enthusiasts would want. Unfortunately they carry a ton of Ultra products and those are typically crap. If they got rid of Ultra they'd be fine.
