this happened to me one time. my car got vandilized a club and they pulled off the passenger side mirror... it was hanging on by just the wires for the auto mirror.

my dad duct taped it back until we could get it fixed 😱

at least in Ohiiiio? The car's not worth fixing, don't drive much, is it illegal to have a busted mirror?
if you drive the car at all the side mirror is worth fixing.

Nah, not really. A replacement mirror should be fairly cheap, though, I would guess under $20.

It varies by state.

CA requires a passenger side mirror if you can't see out the back window.
I believe there is also a law that if the car has a part, it has to be functional.

If the mirror glass is cracked or broken many parts stores (Pep boys does) have glue on glass replacements for about $8. If it's only a crack glue over the old one. If it's broken up, break it completely out and glue to the base.

For $8 fix it and don't draw attention to yourself. It's well worth $8 to save being stopped even one time. The same with keeping all lights operating. If you can't afford those type of repairs maybe you should quit driving because it's not going to be any fun at all getting stopped all the time even if you don't get a ticket.

The passenger side one? Who uses those? I've got one on my car, but I just use the driver's side one and the rearview. The exception would be a van where your rearview is rendered basically useless, and you need to use that mirror.
