So can I not run a projector with windows 7 starter netbook edition?

It says here that you can't run dual monitors - so will I be able to hook up to a projector - or do I have to upgrade? Any other horrible things about starter edition if the primary purpose is on the go internet access and running powerpoints?

I don't have first hand experience, but I'm sure you can hook up an external monitor, you'll just have 1 display.

afaik, you can not run extended desktop, but can mirror and solely run the external display.
