Nothing to dispute my links (from well know sources btw)? Yup, nothing. So what do you do? Pull more labels and insults because that is ALL you have. Funny I don't see anyone from red states throw as much pathetic insults and name calling as those from blue states. Aren't those from blue states suppose to be highly educate and tolerance? :D

As I said before, red states are horrible as you said. Why not just stay in your paradises and enjoy those "organic" human wastes and feces? Veryyyyyyyyy desirable indeed. LOL.

Oh, stay in those paradises and pay up in higher taxes Don't run to red states to hide..Put up or shut up.

Cuomo Offers Doomsday Proposal to Attack a Possible $15 Billion Deficit - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

.

This whole discussion started with your bullshit about 10% of the bill going to Covid related stuff. You have backed up nothing. 22% of the bill is literally Covid stimulus checks. Then there is unemployment extensions, which is also very Covid related, though not all as not all unemployment is due to Covid. That's another big chunk. Then there is state and local aid, of which much is Covid related, as it is tied to unemployment which in many states is tied to Covid related revenue loss. Then there is tons of money for vaccination efforts, PPE and making schools safer. Plus the Restaurants Act, targeted at independently owned small businesses, which the GOP stripped from the last stimulus, because they only give a shit about big corporations. Sure some stuff is not 100% Covid related, but even making healthcare cheaper for mostly working class folks is still a good thing, as well as child tax credits to lift people out of poverty, I know, things neanderthals like you hate. We can debate that AFTER you have admitted you are full of shit with your numbers.

Also, you have still refused to provide proof that any of the payment qualifications have changed from the two Trump/GOP stimulus approved bills as to the one now, which you have also implied. Because you have nothing. I'm not arguing that blue states may have financial issues, but they will be ok, as your article was pre-stimulus. And like I said, nobody is fleeing NYC to live in the shithole deep south states. At least nobody that can help it. And when they do, they aren't turning into Trumper filth either. This is why Texas election numbers have been steadily closing from going 20% GOP in Presidential elections to 6% in the latest one. People evolve, unlike you.

All these reasons are why folks that keep spouting this nonsense are garbage.

Portland is like heaven compared to anywhere in the deep south. There is also real natural beauty in Oregon. Although I have an dark skinned Asian friend that moved to outside Bend, Oregon, because he is a skier and mountain biker and just loves the outdoors. But he got called the N word out there. He is practically black to those redneck yahoos - which is like most of the deep red states. But at least he can escape to Portland for some sanity.

Y'all enjoy your racism down there in deep red land.

Like heaven you say?

A new study out this week, Clean & Safe’s annual Downtown Portland Business Survey, shows the vast majority of business owners downtown agree trash, graffiti and instances of vandalism have become a big issue.
Specific to graffiti and vandalism, 73% say it's "very much" having an impact on business. Regarding overall cleanliness, 86% say downtown “needs improvement”.
Gibson said that's putting it lightly. “It’s just dirty, out of control,” she said.

'Dirty, out of control': Portland's cleaning more trash off the streets than ever, but you wouldn't know it | kgw.com

Stink like heaven is more like it indeed. :D

If you are going to quote me, at least learn how to quote properly of what I said. Where did I say anything as you claim in your very first sentence? And the first sentence of the second paragraph? Look like you are confused me with other poster(s). Uh huh.

I'm not sure what you can't understand. Places become expensive because they are desirable. Your shithole red states are not desirable. So they are cheap now. And people will have regrets, as the more recent article I posted talks in regards to Florida.

But don't worry. Those folks leaving the blue states are not all of a sudden gonna become racist, pathologically lying, anti-working class, anti-healthcare, anti-womens rights, anti-gay rights, anti-education, anti-living wage, etc.. as you want them to become. They are going to change your demographics and care about all those things. And you are going to hate it. And that will be wonderful.

The bolded is a direct refutation of your implied claims. Sure, people are flocking to red states in a lot of cases because the cost of living is low, but you are implying that that makes red states better, and he is explaining to you why that is not necessarily true. Also, red states for the most part leech off the federal government while blue states for the most part fund it.

lol you're an idiot as usual.

Folks have shown facts that people are leaving by the millions every year, and you're an old man on your doorstep of a shithole saying "They'll be back!"

No. No they won't. They never will. But keep telling yourself things I guess. But DONT WORRY! You can always raise your sales tax or property tax another percentage. That doesn't at all have negative implications! Just keep raising it to infinity!

I also don't know where you get off saying red states are shit. You clearly haven't traveled around or gone outside of urban cities where you have to avoid human turds more than dog turds.

Exactly.

I've traveled more than most. I've been all over the world and all over the US. I think California is a beautiful state - I love visiting there but I'd never live there. In fact, I nearly transferred to Silicon Valley many years ago and wisely changed my mind. I still remember visiting a friend who worked at Dolby in San Francisco (1999 or 2000) and he showed me a house for sale. The house was a dump where I wouldn't even let my dog live and he told me it was $425,000. At the time, $425,000 would've bought a literal mansion in most other states.

I get the weather is nice in California. I get the scenery is awesome. But it isn't worth the cost of living there - not when I can travel there multiple times per year if I want that, along with traveling everywhere else in the world to get things I can't get in California, New York, Indiana, Nebraska, etc. The "red" or flyover states are perfectly fine IMO as long as you live near a major city. I've been to every major city in California, huge cities around the world (Tokyo, Seoul, Rome, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Munich, etc) and Indianapolis is just fine. Now, I wouldn't live hours away from a major city, but that goes for California too - I would always want to be within an hour of a major city regardless of where I live.

I don't really want to wade into this conversation, however I know many many people who were born and raised in Washington and all of them have plans on leaving. The political climate has gotten so ridiculous that tied to the increasing cost of living, the huge expansion in traffic and population, and the rapid decline of the larger cities they are all looking at moving to other states. Seattle has turned into a miniature (or worse) version of San Francisco and the political leftism in Seattle and Olympia is driving many of the more moderate population out.

Friendly reminder that anecdotal evidence is not evidence.

Either a gaming laptop or a new shed because my old one is ready to fall over.

Or put it in my "nice vacation somewhere tropical after this 'rona shit is done" fund.

California is amazing if you can afford it. I work for and with a ton of companies in Silicon Valley and all but one of the folks I know up there live outside e of San Francisco. Most live in one of the cities surrounding surrounding San Jose. All extremely nice cities to live.

Before Covid I was on the road about 50% of the year and there are places in most states I would enjoy living.

It's a beautiful state. I still wouldn't live there. I had the chance to transfer out there about 20 years ago and also around the same time, a friend moved out there and he and his wife begged me to move out there and were trying to entice me by hooking me up with her friends, but I couldn't do it. It just isn't worth the premium to me. We make enough to live comfortably in California but here in Indiana, we make a fortune relatively speaking. I work for a national company and work remotely from Indiana and my salary is competitive nationally rather than just in the midwest, so I have it pretty good.

In my fantasy, somewhere between Santa Barbara and Paso Robles near or on the coast. I'd have to rethink not drinking though being in wine country.

Having spent the past 20+ years in the Midwest, it's 100% worth the premium it costs to live in the Seattle area to me.
