I'm living in Residence at York U and my internet hasn't worked since I moved in. I knew it was the drop since I could connect on my roomate's drop. Anyway finally this guy comes to fix the drop. He replaces the drop and is working with those huge switchboards when he gets a call saying apparently my drop was turned off due to a ..virus.

Now there are two reasons why this is stupid.

a) I don't have a virus, Norton is running fully updated as well as windows, and there is nothing that I do not know of, I think I'm pretty safe.

b) I have not been able to connect at all, there was no connection that was lost! Unless they detected a virus in the split second I had my cat5 cable plugged into the wall for the first time and deactivated it then.

Ugh now after 2 weeks I have to wait until MONDAY FVCK!

Silly Senior Members...

Any respectably Golden Member would have had a router hooked up to his roomies port on day1 to get around this problem.
A Diamond Member would have had a wireless router/lan going by now.
A Lifer would have thrown his roomies computer out the window, setup his computer on the desk, and resumed posting within minutes of learning there was a connection problem. Nef is a state of mind, not just an addiction.

Close... BUT:
Golden member would have logged on from roomates computer and posted YACT thread: My landlords network SUCKS!!!
Diamond member would have set up the router w/100megabit cat5 (wireless sucks bandwidthwise, transfer is slow)
Lifer would have killed his roomate and moved into his room, or at least swapped the 2 rooms stuff and pretended like he was always in that room.
