I'm living in Residence at York U and my internet hasn't worked since I moved in. I knew it was the drop since I could connect on my roomate's drop. Anyway finally this guy comes to fix the drop. He replaces the drop and is working with those huge switchboards when he gets a call saying apparently my drop was turned off due to a ..virus.
Now there are two reasons why this is stupid.
a) I don't have a virus, Norton is running fully updated as well as windows, and there is nothing that I do not know of, I think I'm pretty safe.
b) I have not been able to connect at all, there was no connection that was lost! Unless they detected a virus in the split second I had my cat5 cable plugged into the wall for the first time and deactivated it then.
Ugh now after 2 weeks I have to wait until MONDAY FVCK!
