Arrogance has nothing to do with it.

It would seem on the face of it to be incredibly arrogant. They're saying they, & only they are right, to the exclusion of everyone else who disagrees with them...

What is it all about then, if it's not arrogance?

Well, if they're right, and the other people don't believe them, why should those other people get the same priviledges and blessings when they didn't believe in those priviledges and blessings to begin with? And how is that arrogance?

No religion believes that not everyone has the ability to go to their "particular heaven", but that people who don't follow the necessary requirements will not be granted entrance. That's not arrogance. It's simply following the rules. Is it arrogance for a restuarant to not provide you food if you won't pay? Is it arrogance for a car dealership to refuse a car to those with bad or no credit? No. It's just the rules.

Admission to heaven is open to all. Always has been, always will be. It's the arrogance of the unbeliever that is the problem, not the other way around. (That is not meant to be insulting, so please don't take it that way)

Its just the rules ok guys. I read it in a book so it must be true.

If you want a real analogy try this on for size; God is a pimp and we are all his hoes, as long as you pay him his due and give him the respect your sugar daddy deserves he dont give a sh!t what you do with the rest of your time. Like God a pimp has rules for his hoes but as long as you pay up in the end you'll get a place to stay for the night and all the heaven you want(crack cocaine). All you lose either way is your dignity(well maybe sanity too).

I thought that New Testament people would believe that salvation was *only* available through JC.

That's what a Methodist Church seemed to convey to me. I was raised Christian, but I'm sort of an agnostic.

Well at least they don't go on my college campus shouting:

"The Following People are going to Hell:

Thieves
Nonbelievers
Adulterers
Homosexuals"

Edit: And by Old Testament pricks I mean Pat Robertsons, not Jews, lol. Jewish people are very tolerant.

Well, not to bad. But again, if you don't want to be his hoe, nothing is stopping you. You simply won't receive his "crack cocaine." But if you want the "crack cocaine", you have to abide by his rules.

I'm failing to see what you're trying to say exactly. Perhaps it's just me, but could you be a little plainer?
