As luck would have it, I am a perfect match to donate a kidney to my nephew 🙂
Just curious if anyone here has ever done this sort of thing before and what your experience was like (feel free to PM if you'd prefer).

You can live okay with one kidney, but it's going to be a lot harder for the recipient just to keep that thing functioning.
