So...any chance we're going to see a unified driver from ATI?

Since the current Radeon drivers are based on the Rage 128 chip i believe that we havent seen the Radeon's full potential yet.
Do you guys think that ATI is going to release a unified(or Radeon only)driver in the near future?

I could be wrong, but I think unified is for Rage and Radeon cards...but if you are looking for "Radeon only" drivers, they are already releasing thing in a pretty timely manner.

If you mean drivers that will push the Radeon to the limit, probably not in a while. Look at how long it took Nvidia to tweak the Geforce drivers to what they are now, and the Geforce 2 is based on the Geforce which is based on the TNT2 and in turn based on the TNT...=)

According to ATI sources, rumor is that ATI are presently working on it and are expecting to release em withing the next 48 months. Just keep and eye out.

What they hell is ATIonic talking about? The Radeon drivers were ALL NEW. Not based on the previous Rage drivers. If you were paying attention during the early days of the Radeon, ppl were weary of if because of driver support, ESPECIALLY since the were brand drivers made from SCRATCH.

Did you pass out yet? =)

You are right though, ATI hasn't kept many promises, especially on the drivers, but they seem to be improving with the Radeon.

No that's not true, they're based on the 128's code. Like it or not it's a fact.
