Got my carbs rebuilt...valves clearanced...plugs, filters, fluids replaced...wiring fixed and completed...

Shes VERY nekkid, (erm, no lights or signals or plastics, or insuirance)....but I took her around the block Saturday and damn, I'm excited.

I started painting the plastics today, hopefully finishing them ASAP. Thursday it's supposed to be 60* and sunny for the first time since September....I'll be damned if I'm not on two wheels by then.

Need to go pick my helmet up tomorrow... And need to find my airgun so I can paint my accent color.

BTW, '91 EX500. Going to be flat black and purple. It's at my dads garage, I'll take pictures in the morning when I can finish the plastics...I hope.

Anyone else excited for riding season?

Got mine out last night and rode around a bit.
Was a bit difficult to start after sitting all winter (XR650R.. No magic button). Rode up to the gas station to fill up the new 4.3 gallon tank and try out the new carb.
Still need to put new tires and chain on, but i am almost ready as well!

Got up this morning and 1st thing that came to my mind was a ride down to the Beach before breakfast.

had her up friday morning, rode 90 miles on friday, 105 on saturday, 50 on sunday, and 25 on monday. I love this damn thing.

Not bad for a $700 bike, shes pretty quick. Not that I may or may not have pulled up at a stoplight next to a C5 Z06, and I may or may not have performed a hard launch and first through third pull. $700 bike over a corvette z06? Yes.

Arg... This is a reminder for me to hook my bike up to the trickle charger... It hasn't been started in a few months, I'm dreading dealing with the ethanol. Hopefully nothing is gummed up.

Nice. If you moved to Texas you'd never have to worry about a riding "season" since it's year round. I rode on New Years and it was 75 and sunny.

I'm actually looking to sell my GS500. Had 2 bites already and I put it up 3 hours ago.

Here in Jersey, you can pretty much ride from April to...September. Everything else is just too cold ~40 degrees.

Hell it's near April now and the weather is still in the low 40s.

It has been chilly here lately so I haven't been riding as much. Two days last week commuting and both days were drastically different as far as comfort goes. It has been down in the mid 40s in the early AM hours so I've been taking the cage to work.

up until my kids were born, all i owned was a bike for transportation. year round riding is great. and 40 isnt too cold for riding. i really miss my bike.

40 really isn't that bad, you just have to bundle up 🙂

I haven't gotten my bike out yet. It's been warm for a couple of days, but not consistently enough to get it out.

Well, that's about as cold as it gets here and since I don't have winter clothes and most of my gear is for spring/summer use it is too cold for me to ride the 45 minutes to and from work. It's just not fun.

Just to reiterate, it's near April now and look at this weather still...We're going to get snow in the next couple of days lol.

45+ is warm enough for me to ride to work

35+ is warm enough for me to ride my dirt bike

25+ is warm enough for me to ride my mountain bike

Have already taken the yellow beast out this year......it's 80F today as it has been close to that for a couple of weeks now. Was fun.......

But awaiting a new voltage regulator to show up for my for now more funner toy......(repowered with a 70hp Merc, but after second use, developed a bad stator. Rather than waste $$ on another Merc black death stator, was replaced/upgraded w/a Merc Red stator, necessitating the vr replacement....)
