So, Antec Earthwatts 500 or Truepower Trio 550

Any pros and cons to getting one of these over the other (other than the 50 extra watts)? Price-wise, I can get the Earthwatts for $79 with no rebate, and the Trio for $69 after rebate. However, is there some factor I'm not aware of (actual output, etc.) that makes one preferable to the other?

What are you trying to power with it?

Also, I'm trying to find out what temperature these Antecs are rated at. I can't find anything on their website except for MTBF (which is at 25°C, but that's not uncommon and not a temp I'm going to assume they're rated at.)

Abit IP35-E (or possibly a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L since I still have *gasp* an LPT laser printer in addition to my USB inkjet)
C2D E2140 CPU (OC to around 3.0/3.2 if possible)
2X1GB
8800GT (possibly OC'd)
2 SATA HDD
2 IDE optical drives (could potentially reduce this to one, as one of them is acting flaky lately)
1 PCI sound card

What do you think?

I think they will both work fine. The EA500 is on occasion really cheap (either with or without rebates). When I say really cheap, I mean around $40-50. Basically, get the cheaper one.

Ok... well the Antec is apparently rated at 50°C. You'd think they'd make a point of bragging about that since most PSU's aren't, but it's a bullet point on their product details page.

Oops, I may have been a little unclear in my subject line. They're both Antec products, one from the Earthwatts line and one from the Truepower line. Sorry for the confusion.

That part wasn't unclear.

What was unclear was why you were limiting yourself to two Antec products.

But now that I see they are actually rated at 50°C (they need to fire their marketing staff for not making that more obvious) you should be safe either way.

Sorry, my mistake. Thanks for the advice. As far as the brand, I just have experience with their products and the Earthwatts 500 was recommended.

TRANSLATION: Have you looked into the Corsair 450/550W models?
