So, ahem, my url bar in IE doesn't work

I type a url and hit enter and abosolutely nothing happens. Not even the hourglass cursor, the browser stays on the same page. Now, if I click the link on a page or type a url and hit cotrol+enter IE properly loads the site. Anyone seen this before?
