The $69.99 retail price software is going for $80-300 (and more apparently)!!! I understand the Next-Gen Console auction scheme... but a fvcking expansion pack? You can buy and play the full thing RIGHT now (it's on shelves and online EVERYWHERE) for like $50. And unlike recent console releases... it's not some kind of gimped out version. Granted you don't get cool stickers and posters and whatever other sh1t they throw in to make "Those Without Life" throw their cash at retailers while they drool all over themselves.

I suppose that's not as bad as playing from 12:30am to 7:30am STRAIGHT like one of the poor schmucks posting over there. At least I can be sure he's not having sex and further contaminating the gene pool.

I have to commend Blizzard though. They're fvcking geniuses.

That makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.

I cannot believe people are paying over $200 for that.

The regular version isn't going for much more than retail, but the Collectors Edition going for that much? Are you kidding?

i have to say the collectors edition they had for launch of warcraft was very good unlike some of the other collectors addtions out there.

it came with the dvd and cd version of the game, a very nice art of world of warcraft hard back book, cloth map which was ok and the 'making of' dvd which was cool plus an exclusive in game pets that no one else has.

i thought it was worth it...

not sure what this collectors edition has in it...but i put my preorder in though i havent played the game in about 6 months

Stupid rant. If you didn't care about the collector's edition, you wouldn't be whining about it. I'll tell you what happened. You wanted to buy the collector's edition but chose not to pre-order it like most individuals so you're SOL.

Like you said, no one is being forced to buy it. They can go hit up EB Games/Gamestop and purchase the expansion pack (non collector's edition) for $39.99

They offer cards. Like Magic the Gathering? Except those cards have codes on them which you can use to get in-game items.

Now THATS fvkcing genius. Want to break into a new market with established heavy weights? Tie it back to your online game which has more people then any other online RPG.

Yes, Bliz definitely has some sound business sense.

In spite of never having purchased a Blizzard CE product, I'm well aware that they, over every other software company, KNOW how to put together a quality collectors edition. And while it may be worth the $70 price tag, it sure as fvck isn't worth $300+ dollars.

they're most likely not. just because its listed at $200 doesn't mean people will buy it at $200. we need links to completed auctions for the high prices. remember, it just came out last nigth at midnight.
