For 3 years I've been a proud non-car owner. I'm more conscious of my carbon footprint and I save a shit ton of money by not buying petrol, insurance, warrant of fitness, registration, tyres and all the other bills that come with owning a car. Not to mention the great exercise I get from walking or skateboarding 10+km a day.
So my mum flew down to visit me and because my Dad is doing really well at work she insisted that they buy me a car. I declined but she wouldn't take no for an answer. Went to a couple of cheapo dealerships and ended up with a 1995 VW Polo 1.6l. I pick it up on Monday after the cam belt gets changed.
I really didn't need this car, but I guess it would be nice to have for my photography, allowing me to get out to the mountains and lakes more often. And it means I don't necessarily have to skateboard to university at sub zero temperatures (even though I still will).
