So, after a week with my Tmo SGS3.....

......I decide to piece back all of my apps and realize some games are not compatible with the s3! WTF? Dead Space? Max Payne? Why? Is it the higher resolution? All of these games and more work fine on my sgs2 and tf101. Is this going to be an issue on the s3 in the future?


BTW, these games also do not work on my job supplied droid razr so I am assuming its because it also has a higher res than these games can handle. Any word on future development on games for higher res phones?

Some of the higher profile games are artificially filtered to only specific devices allowed by the publisher. EA Mobile is notorious for it. Gameloft has a few titles filtered too. With a high profile device like the SGS3, I'd expect Gameloft to update to support or remove those filters. EA . . . who knows.

Try restoring your old game backups with titanium backup, a lot of the time an app is not officially supported but works just fine across many devices, the Netflix app being a prime example.

Im not rooted and neither is my sgs2 or tf101. Being I dont use my sgs2 anymore I may root it just to get these games back, but I dont feel like rooting the sgs3 yet.

It's not the res. Those Games all work on my nexus and the res is the same as the SGS3.

even if they are supported, if it's an EA game, it might not be "authorized". They "authorize" use on one device.
