Regarding the original poll, guess it's just me but I find it idiotic beyond belief that folks would form such opinions based on rants, rumors, hype and fanboism. Reminds me of the thread I came across here with folks swearing they'd be building desktop gaming rigs with Pentium Ms that would crush the A64. What the hell is wrong with admitting "We won't know til the product is actually tested, so it would be foolish to claim to know now?" Already we've got the same massive tools swearing allegiance to Conroe, Merom, K10, 580, PS3, etc and other stuff no one has their hands on yet.
Now we've got allegedly grown men that are actually depressed that (it looks like) ATI won't have the top graphics card for a bit. Same thing we'd have from some others if the tables were reversed regarding Nvidia. Damnit, find a sports team, pro wrestler or American Idol contestant to root for to vent your superstitious tribalism like the rest of us do, and quit misdirecting it into the realm of computer hardware.
Is it ok to have your favorite brands? Sure. But it doesn't give you license to pretend your preferences will pan out on silicon just because you "<3 Brand XYZ forevah!!11!" The original poll should have been:
Do you think the r520 will be better than the G70 after seeing g70's benchamrks?
1) I have no way of knowing
2) Hey, I'm a fanboi. Regardless of which camp, all you have to know is that my opinion is worthless to those who evaluate hardware on the basis of facts.
