So the drive mountings in my case suck major sack (i had to mod one cage 3 times), and i just got 2 1TB Spinpoint F1s w/32mb cache from the memorial day sale @ frys. im trying to decide how i want to chain everything together here. currently, i have my 3 7200.10 barracudas in the front drive cage with a 120mm D12SL-12 yate loon fan blowing air over them. up at the top of the case, i have a 92mm A.C. Ryan fan which im not running due to my not liking how loud it is and my Vraptor being all by itself up there. now, im probably going to just order another 3 in 3 enclosure like the one that i have in the front of my case (came with it) when my next paycheck comes in, but until then i have a few hundred CDs i want to start ripping and i dont want my new drives getting toasty with my Vraptor if i can help it. generally i have noticed that my seagate drives run a lot hotter than some other WD drives i have lying around elsewhere, so whats the scoop on these F1s. i know they are super slick fast for 7200RPM drives, but how warm do they get, and how well will they stand up to vibrations (even for just a week or 2) next to my Vraptor? just running them on the bottom of the case or outside on the desk isnt an option, as i dont have enough space
