So, a question about clothing returns

OK so I got a sweater that is a size too big. I want to return it to get more useful things, as I have plenty of sweater and need more boxers and underwear

However this same item is now 'on sale' on the web site for much cheaper than it was before xmas. I am going to assume it's going to be on sale B&M tomorrow when I go. I have all the tags but no receipt. Is there any way I can avoid getting shafted on the return? They're just going to give me a store credit refund at the new price, aren't they?

Sneaky bastards. That's pretty unethical. If they really didn't want to screw the consumer they'd use different tags for before/after xmas, being that NO ONE gives receipts with the price on them anymore.

the number of people that buy stuff at a regular price and try to return it at regular price are outnumbered by the fvks who buy stuff onsale and try to make money and return it at regular price, so you're screwed
