So a BMW 328i comes in for it's 60,000 mile oil change...

Yeah, I need an oil change and the idle is a touch on the lumpy side, could you check that out for me?

That's so nasty. Probably someone who thought they didn't have to change their oil often because it was synthetic.

That Saturn doesn't surprise me at all. A few weeks ago my dealership gave me a rental overnight and the girl in front of me picking up her car complained that the KIA had a CEL.

The chick at enterprise told her that they don't get the cars serviced by the dealership so the light is always on because their mechanic doesn't have the equipment to reset it.

So yeah just in case anyone was thinking of picking up a cheap ex rental car....don't.

Still I don't know how the pressure wasn't basically close to zero, you'd think at that point the thing would be cursing at you in German.

QFT. Rentals are abused. I don't know anyone who treats a rental carefully when they are using it.

Hmm, my car starts screaming at me (those who have a BMW understand the annoying "chime") when I get NEAR a service interval. Once the interval hits, the chime never turns off, ever.

This guy was an idiot AND deaf.

Sad to abuse any car that way. When I turned wrenches for Toyota we had a 4Runner come in with 30K on the oil. It looked like chocolate pudding in the pan, and the rods and mains were knocking.

Kudos to BMW for engineering one that can go that long with that kind of abuse.

The service tech can't pull the negative wire on the batt?

No kidding. BMW's have some higher maintenance costs related to the difficulty in servicing some parts, and the higher prices for parts, but those i6 motors are pretty damned solid.

People that do things like this don't deserve to drive a vehicle.

Why?

If they think the car never needs an oil change, I can only imagine what they think about their brake pads and / or tires.

Makes me nervous about going 2500 past my interval...

what has a 2500 mile interchange?

at 9k miles my wifes astras oil still looked good(yes I changed it then, when the OLM said so, it has mobil 1 syn, and it started that oil change interval with a 4k mile trip)

I helped someone replace a flat tire once.

The tire was flat because he was down to the cords. Not as in cords showing, I mean there was two 1" wide strips all the way around the tire where treadblocks once were. The only thing there was cords. no rubber. The other three tires were pretty bald and would be there soon too. Took him to a tire shop, and how many tires did he get?

One.

I'm going to go out on a limb, for no reason, and guess that they drove a truck.

Because, you know, trucks are invincible and get perfect traction (and handling in bad weather) regardless of the actual equipment attached to them. That's just common sense.

😱
