Evolution has been observed in real time, yes that includes "macro evolution".

If there are scientists that have observed it, the results being reproducable and observably by anyone with enough knowledge on the subject then it isn't subjective anymore, it's objective reality and it requires NO faith what so ever.

Misinformation and general ignorance should be fought no matter what, that's the only way for a society to progress.

We know the earth has been here and evolved to some degree. But we, the human being, intelligent life, the mathematical probablity is so astronomical you can't buy calculator in a local store with enough zeroes to fill it in. That is the fact. Not my opinion. How we the human being came into existence has zero, let me repeat zero proof we evolved. Evolution theory we can from a lesser lifeform can't be proven and all attempts to find the "missing link", well its still missing. The mathematical probability there is another earth ain't much above infinite. So in reality you should never go out in a thunder storm. And you have have a better chance of hitting the lottery for 100 million. If anyone holds true to their ignorance, based on your intelligence, they should also never fly or drive a car either. You want to take a number that has a improbability so great, its beyond even the mind to fathom and call it intelligence. I should just call you Reuben Feffer.

Current estimates of the number of galaxies is that there are between 100 and 200 billion of them.

Currently we have detected about 350 planets in the Milky Way (although there are probably many, many, many more)

If you assume that we've found all the planets that exist in the Milky Way AND we take the low estimate on the number of galaxies, then assume that the Milky Way is representative of an average galaxy that means there are 35 trillion planets on the super low end.

Just how unlikely did you think it was?

I like that argument because it's extremely stupid and so easy to counter....

Did you know that using the same probability calcualations you can figure out that it's impossible to get wet when it rains....

See the chances of those exact atoms that make up the water molecules to hit your body is so close to zero that it's a mathematical impossibility. Now these water molecules have been around for a LONG time, been split, been reassembled, been all over the atmosphere and all over earth too but the mathematical probability that they will be assembled and drop exactly where you are standing when you are standing in the rain is pretty much zero.

But that doesn't even matter because using that formula you don't even exist, see the chances that exactly that spermie and that egg met and the people who met and had sex at that specific moment in time since your first ancestor and for all ancestors is zero according to the mathematical probability calculations...

With that out of the way, i assume you don't believe in modern humans coming from Africa, that geneticists have studied our predecessors and come up with a direct lineage, that modern man outside of Africa has mated with Neanderthals and that every now living population on earth except for the Sub Saharan Africans carry Neanderthal genes? I assume you don't buy into the whole homo erectus and the direct evidence found?

Or perhaps you just spend your time denying what is known without ever taking the time to actually study the evidence?

Macro evolution has been proven in a laboratory, it has been observed in real time, there is no end to the ridiculous excuses you need to come up with to deny reality and you know what, it's fine, go ahead and be insane but please, keep it to yourself, insanity taught has NEVER benefitted anyone.

Like I said theories. I can look in any telescope and look at any planet and tell you I believe its habital. But I have zero bleeping proof. You have about as much chance to reach or see, let alone confirm any of them habital, as someone person who claimed they walked into heaven. Give me a break. Also, there is still zero fracking proof we evolved. Zilch, zip, natta.

As astronomers' ability to detect planets outside our solar system improves, it's becoming increasingly clear the the number of earth-like planets in the universe is vast. Look at a very recent study:

http://www.astrobio.net/pressrelease/3701/discovery-triples-number-of-stars-in-the-universe

“There are possibly trillions of Earths orbiting these stars,” van Dokkum said, adding that the red dwarfs they discovered, which are typically more than 10 billion years old, have been around long enough for complex life to evolve. “It’s one reason why people are interested in this type of star.”

Consider that there are about 10**24 stars in the universe (current estimate). If each star has on average 5 planets, then even if the rarity of planets with Earth-like conditions is 1 in (say) a trillion, that would still mean there are 5 trillion planets in the universe that are just like Earth.

In a vast universe, things can be incredibly rare, yet at the same time be incredibly common.

You talked about probabilities, not facts. I just pointed out to you how silly your probability was.

I'm guessing you didn't know just how big the universe is. 35 trillion planets is probably an exceedingly low estimate. As I said before, since you said it was near zero, exactly what probability were you thinking? (although I did make a mistake. I should have trapped you by having you state it before letting you know how huge the universe is.)

I am not going to get into the overwhelming evidence for evolution, because that debate has been played out so many times it's no longer even slightly interesting. Needless to say, your estimate of the quantity of the proof for evolution is about as accurate as your planetary assessments. :)

Your counter arguments are dumb. Maybe you missed the the 5 billion people and all the damn umbrellas. And if every scientist had a nickle for every successful lab experiment, they would be billionaires. We can't even find a cure for the common cold and you actually belive some lab experiment is proof of human evolution. You may not be an idiot, but you shouldn't be allowed to cross the street by yourself.

The notion of some "missing link" is a misconception, plenty of transitional fossils have been found.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selam_(Australopithecus)

Will you stop with the missing link and fossil jazz. Here is a picture, lol, of the reconstructed "human", lucys baby,

LOL, come on man, will you stop with the monkey business, hehehehehehehehe. Just stop, its embarrassing.

classy, you are embarrassing yourself.

Yea I know right. Its emabrrassing to discount the probability of something happening that is damn near impossible. Its embarrassing to discount planets, no one will ever be able to visit. Its embarrassing, we have never found one shred of more intelligent life than us, no ET to be found. Its embarrassing that I have a greater chance to own all the money on the planet than to have evolved.

You wanna run that by me again?

P.S. Even without a single fossil, the evidence for evolution is overwhelming. Francis Collins (head of the Human Genome Project and an evangelical Christian) says that the DNA evidence alone proves human evolution beyond a shadow of a doubt. Every other piece of confirming evidence from other scientific fields is just a bonus.

Well, its still a theory, so the evidence can't be too overwhelming. Its the same rehashed stuff they have been spitting out for decades. Nothing new, just a new way to say, I don't believe in God, so there is no other explanation. What is sad is the fact that even their own scientific probability is so far fetched, believing in God seems even more plausible. Hell he can't be any more of fairytale then believing in something that has a chance of happening 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.......never

In the city I live in I hear thunder only once a year or so, sometimes it happens every few. Does this mean thunder here does/can not exist since it is improbable to hear it? Oh course not.

Dude. You got shit on. Move on.

As usual, you think if you just insult someone enough that somehow you win some argument. Let me tie this up in a neat bow. We have two beliefs for our existence. Each has some claimed proof that neither side will accept. Believing in a God you have never ever seen is no more ridiculous or ignorant than believing in an event that has probability that it happened when that number makes it impossible. Both require some sort of assumption and faith. The belief in existence does give the some total of a persons ignorance or intelligence. I can't prove either one is true or false. But this one thing I do know, my belief or anyone else's is not going make either a fact or not. My only exception to the whole argument is the when a person who believes in evolution just insults a person who questions it.
