Snowstorm in the East this weekend? Doh!

Looks like the picture in the link shows the entire east coast, with the exception of southern FL, being affected by the winter storm.

looks like a line of snow is going to go right through my county, the county just west of bloomington: radar link

Radar linky is dead.

Figures, supposed to hit here Saturday, the night of my Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. The only thing that'll keep me from going is an all-out blizzard.

ughh, already got 8 inches of snow from Lake Effect snow yesterday... I don't want more. At least we didn't have to waste a snow-day... roads weren't too bad. I like saving snow days for Feb/March 🙂

Some peckerhead(s) got in an accident on 611 (Bucks County, PA) and made me an hour and a half late for work today. There was only a dusting of snow!

It's not just the Northeast. We have a decent chance of snow here in NC Thursday/Friday and I certainly wouldn't consider us Northeast USA.

By this point last year we had already had 2 or 3 major storms here in Connecticut. Actually had our first flurries of the season last night, no accumulations though, only some light powdery stuff that blew away. Been a nice fall, guess it had to end eventually.

It was hell on the highways though this morning. I-84 and I-91 were backed up for miles on end because of all the accidents caused by the black ice (and of course people just not knowing how to drive in general), and some stretches of 84 were actually closed down.

I-84 always sucks, it gets the most rain, the worst of the snow, the tornadoes, lightning, etc. My sister lives up that way and it's amazing how much worse the weather is in her area than in mine on everything except Nor'easters. Of course black ice sucks everywhere, no way to drive on that stuff, 10mph is still too fast and forget it on hills. We were thankfully spared the worst of it here down on the coast. The sound is still warm enough that it's got the temperatures a couple of degree above the I-84 corridor, so no major ice problems this time through.
