Snowden is leaking classified information while in Russia. Lock that traitor up or have him commit suicide.

bunch of R congressmen burst into a SCIF while live streaming it the other day. Lock those traitors up or have them commit suicide.

You deserve to live under tyranny. It's the only way government can keep you completely safe.

Snowden saw wrongdoing towards his countrymen, less concerned if this wrongdoing was of foreign or domestic origin he moved to act.
I can appreciate that.
Then he moved to position himself to be used as a Russian propaganda tool, and icon and essence of wrongdoing of the American state, and thus hurting his fellow countrymen(Americans).
Appreciate the irony.
At this point, you have to question 1. his patrioism and 2. his motives.
A patriot would have faced the consequences.

(and probably gotten a pardon from Obama).

You do realize that the US government canceled his passport, stranding him in Russia, when he was on his way to a friendly Central American country, right? He is not there by his own doing. He was literally trying to board a plane and leave when it happened all those years ago.

Humor me. I dont know :).
edit : Well during Obama he could ... During Trump who the hell knows.
You seriously don't think he would've been charged and imprisoned under Obama? You must have slept through the news when this was all happening.

This man is no Ellsberg. Ellsberg embarrashed government policy makers. Snowden unnecessarily risked the lives of our covert operatives, and deployed serviceman.

Of course. For how long is the question.
Actions.
Consequences.
In a game of incomplete information, taking all the optimal moves available to you, as a patriot, you may still end up in jail. Why? Cause you had a shit hand to begin with.
Lets review for a second, rewind the rape, and imagine we have some choices.
Snowden becomes woke and does
1. Nothing.
2. What he actually did.
3. What he did, minus the Russian asylum, and turned him self in.

I would never choose 1. but I'd choose 3 over 2.
I know its easy to pass judgement from here. I am glad he did what he did. Calling him a hero might be a stretch. Number 3 would have earned him that title. IMO.

He took specific measures to protect them. You are confusing him with Julian Assange.
