Hello all,

It's almost ski / snowboard season!

I'm carrying over most of my cool gear from last season (snowboard, snowboard bag, boots, jacket, mitts, etc.)

But i think i need new goggles.

I don't know much about goggles at all, which is why I'm posting this thread here.

I'd like mirrored lenses, just b/c they look really nifty and peachy keen.

Suggestions?

i usually get a new pair of cheap smith goggles each year, and then end up hating them and not ever wearing them. they fog up easily and dont work very well.

most of the time i just use my oakley sunglasses or nothing at all.

i think this year i'm finally going to cave in and get a good pair of goggles though.

what kind of budget are you on for them?

I would recommend you check out some Briko goggles.

I still have mine from when I raced a few years ago. :) *edit* Oakleys are way way overpriced for what you actually get, IMHO.

the foakleyes can actually be bad for your eyes.. if the lenses arent curved properly and the same thickness throughout and everything, can cause some pretty bad eyestrain.

oh.. and why does anybody want to snowbaord?!

skiing owns!!!:D

it's good you're open minded about the safety of your eyes. Nothing is too expensive to protect your baby blues.

Make sure that your goggles will fit well inside your helmet. WEAR a helmet.
Otherwise, I recommend spending $80-90 on a pair. The high end ones are a vast improvement over the cheap ones. There are lots of good brands and truthfully it usually comes down to personal taste.

I have a pair of Spy Blizzards that are nice. Can't go wrong with Oakleys though.
