Boots are something you just have to try them on yourself. They are such personal fit that you will need to be in them to know whether you like them or not.

You're getting Drake F60's and you're asking for recommendations? :)
You'll be really happy whith those bindings.
Boots you can only truly get best judgement by trying them on... look for fat double stiches, very strong support from the bottom of your heal and up.. look to make sure the tongue is sowed into the boot all the way up... (a lot of boots don't have this, and it lets snow in regardless of how tight you tie them..)...

ski dazzle is going to be cool :)
the UCI snow board club is having a private sale on sunday at Active. We're gonna be caravanning up to LA next thursday. I need to get myself some ski gear. I'm not a boarder.

My roommate picked up a pair of Drake binding at the Fresh Tracks sale a couple weeks ago in Long Beach. He's not sure if he wants to use them or not. And as far as boots, it really is personal preference.

I'm considering buying a boarding package as well. We'll see tough. And frig... ski gear is so damn expensive... maybe i should just board...

I have Salomon boots (Malamute model) and they kick ass. I tried on Burton, Northwave, Ride, and a few others and none fit me very well. I have big problems with heal lift and the Salomon's were the only ones to prevent it. And they also have a very kick ass lacing system.

I too ride using Drake F60's on my Never Summer 165 (last seasons board). Rode it this past weekend and it was a dream. Very very nice ride.

Bah, damn the Mid-West U.S. nowhere to do any good snow activities, unless you want to mess around with a piddly trash hill or something. How much do you guys normally spend on your equipment, say for a package or something? I've boarded once and I'm gonna do it a lot more once I move out west.

Snow's already falling on the left coast? We usually go to Tahoe.

and JUST SAY NO to step ins. You'll thank me later.

I have a Burton Clash (last year. cheaper version of the Custom), Burton Syncro bindings (Not bad, but are plastic), and Forum Team boots.

came back from the convention and i ended up getting the Drake Matrix bindings, along with Northwave Solo Impact boots. i tried on a LOT of different boots and these just molded to my feet, i knew when i tried them on they were the ones to get. hopefully some of the so cal mtn resorts will open up soon so i can hit the slopes this thanskgiving weekend =).
