snowboardin for first date is NOT a good idea..

you want your first date where you guys can relax and talk and find out more about each other.. not letting her watching you fall on your a$$ everyone 2 min

asking her to go see LOTR does not seem like a good idea to me :)

I second the "not a good idea" vote. The idea of a first date is to talk to each other and get to know each other, not spend time in an ER together.

i concur with the thinking that snowboarding is not a good first date idea. However, from your profile, i see you live in Newark, DE (right down the road from me, i live in Wilmington), and i think that ice skating IS a good idea, OTOH. The Fred Rust Ice Arena at the University of Delaware is nice. Much less chance of serious bodily injury, a bit more sophisticated sounding, and the chance to get close to her (arm in arm, to offer each other mutual support from falling down perhaps), while still maintaining a degree of personal space.

Another quick question, how old are you and her? Being a local, i can offer some more suggestions to you, but need to know so i can get an idea of what sort of things might make sense to folks in your age group :)

Has she ever gone? cause if so then probably not a good idea to take her snowboarding because she might get tired waiting for you, if not then the two of you can laugh at eachother when you fall and you will fall a lot. Your body will also probably be pretty sore the day after, if not the day you go snowboarding. But if neither of you has gone before then it would probably be fun. If she has gone before then do something else. Take her to some video arcade or something, one of those mini theme parks where they have minigolf or something like that, it seems cheesy, but some girls really enjoy it. Do you have a playdium near you? Those are always fun to go to, and when you get bored, you can always take off to a movie.

i think that sports make great first dates!
snoboarding, skating, bowling, rollerblading etc.

its way better than a movie or a play cuz you can interact with eachother!

*kat. <-- all about the sport dates.

That would depend on the girl then...dont you think? If she can appreciate a little fun and being sore with you then i guess its no problem. On the other hand... if shes the dainty type who doesnt think falling on your bottom so many times is neither funny nor romantic then i sugges you avoid the snowboarding thing. :)

not a good idea simply because you've never done it before yourself. Keep in mind that not everyone enjoys snowboarding, and if she happens to dislike the snowboarding, I'll let you guess what her answer will be to your next date :)

or watching her fall and then having her be in pain for a day or two if she's never gone boarding before....
