i'm in the market for some new pants... i've been riding on some Sims pants for the past 3 years, and it's time to invest in some new ones... i usually ride down here in local so. california places (bear, summit), but i'm gonna take a few trips to mammoth and tahoe... i bought a pair of Volcom Transition pants, which, when I bought them, I thought they had a 5k waterproof rating, but it turns out they don't, only a 2k rating, so i wanted to return them (except the place i bought them doesn't take returns so i gotta exchange for another pair)... anyways, i'm looking for something around the $150 or so range, if you can recommend a brand of snowboarding pants, and/or a place to buy them in the Orange County area or online, that would be much appreciated!

I envy you guys down there in Cali with access to Mammothand Summit...I'm in a flatland... (ontario).. east coast snowboarding only has a few options.
I had to take a year off due to injury so I'm happy to be back this year.

Pants:

Lots of companies make excellent pants. Just look out for certain things, and find a style/fit you like.

-A lace hook or two built into the inside of each pant leg.
-The penetration rate/ml of water.. it should have a spec on it, the higher the better. Be sure to ask the salesman if he can comment further, but I think the lowest you want is 1000.
-Adjustable lower pant leg so you can properly get it over you're boot and snug.

You should be able to get excellent pants for $150

I would recommend getting ones with suspenders... my friend got the no suspenders-type and, although he and i are both good snowboarders, when we will fall it's generally going pretty darn fast and guess who gets snow in their @$$ and who doesn't? :-D
