Snowboard accessory thread....

gopunk

Lifer
so i've been up 3 times now... i'm starting to think of accessories. namely i want to get a pair of goggles and a better leash. so questions...

1. will most eyeglass stores sell prescription goggles? like lenscrafters? or will i have to find some specialty store...

2. what kind of leash is best? right now the problem is that mine is too hard to snap on with my thickass gloves on. so i want one that's easily used...

3. also i saw some leashes that doubled as locks, are there any types of locks that are better than others? right now i just leave it outside while i go in and eat... seems to be secure enough since that's what everyone else does but i dunno. i just don't feel comfortable leaving 400 bucks sitting for anyone to take.

4. is it easy to remove a stomp pad? i used the one that came with my bindings but now i'm thinking it's a little too small...

these are just my own questions, people feel free to post your own, reviews, thoughts, whatever about snowboard equipment...

thanks but that was totally useless.
well if you're worried about a fvcking leash and stomp pad, then your time on the mountain is going to be useless as well.

1. get contacts.
2. leashes are stupid...just get one and keep in ur pocket if they check.
3. leashes...umm..waiit.. the question was about locks....get a lock if u want...any lock will work. but if your stuff is only worth 400 then you might as well not lock it. cause thast not THAT much 😀
4. stomp pad...doesnt really matter..as long as it works. and stops ur ft from sliding off the board when youre pushin.

5. have fun. stay warm.

ok how's this. just go to your local mountain or favorite snowboarding shop, they'll have different leashes for you to check out. the "easiest" one i've seen is one that has an elastic band and wraps around your leg, rather than latching onto your boot. i don't know the disadvantages to this type of leash, because i've never used it.

as for the stomp pad, i'm guessing that the strength of the adhesive depends on the manufacturer, but i've had the same stomp pad for 3 years and it hasn't budged from where i mounted it, and trust me when i tell you that i abuse my board.

better?

I wouldn't worry too much about the leash, I haven't had one for a couple years and no one's said anything. 🙂

As for the stomp pad, it probably isn't that hard to take off. Get a new one if you like.
